Generation Press have expanded. We got busy, we needed to. You could say we’ve done so by popular demand. But we’re not just ‘bigger’, we have a brand new B2 press, housed in a new state of the art building- that makes us more capable and more competitive than ever. So thats about the big stuff (literally), but we still care just as much about the tiny stuff, the attention to detail. We continue to innovate, and we constantly strive to exceed industry standards- standards are ‘an average’ and we definitely don’t do average.
-
We believe in sustainable print, and we always have done. We are immensely proud therefore to announce that we have been accepted into an EU pilot scheme to become EMAS certified- the highest possible European Certification, and 100% transparent.
-
All items for GPB2 have been made using all of our guiding principles- electricity generated from 100% renewable sources, using vegetable based inks on recycled and or mixed source FSC certified paper. It is compostable and recyclable, but probably worth keeping.

<Leeds Print Festival
Generation Press were thrilled to be asked to give a talk at the Leeds Print Festival at the
Leeds Gallery on January the 29th.
Having not given a public talk before this was quite an experience and one that we really learned from. Unsure about what people would like to hear and see, Anand and I (Paul) put together an exhaustive presentation on Generation Press and our work. We produced two posters for the event. A Generation Press Poster and also the Anthony Burrill poster!
-
The talk was held on the Sunday so we decided on a road trip! On the Saturday Anand, myself and our good friend Micheal C Place of Build made the Journey North, all excited to see and experience the festival of print! When we arrived we headed for the Print Festival at The Leeds Gallery to see what was happening, lots of stalls selling prints, greeting cards and assortments, all made using many different print processes! There was a real buzz and a constant flow of people, it was obvious to see the festival had captured the hearts and minds of many people with a desire to learn, observe and be involved with print.
-
On the Sunday we arrived to give the first of three talks, we delivered a rather in-depth history of four generations, our environmental thinking and the modern history of Generation Press. With retrospect there was too much spoken content and probably not enough visuals! Still, not knowing what people were expecting, we tried to cover all bases.
-
The following two talks by the amazing Si Scott and the Infamous Anthony Burrill, were both brilliant for their very own reasons. Si Scott going through a very recent bereavement gave what I can only describe as an electrifyingly emotional presentation, the hairs were standing up on the back of my neck, we were all hanging on his every word! A well-deserved rousing ovation followed.
-
Then ‘The Showman’ Anthony Burrill was on to give us a lesson on how to do a presentation. Sadly, the smoke machine and lasers were not available but the music pumped out. We were taken on a visual and informative tour of the history of the *showman and his work, one of the few Graphic artist whose work has transcended all walks of life. From his ‘Work Hard and Be Nice to People’ letterpress printed posters, through his advertising work and then his moving image collaborations to name but a few.
-
The weekend ended in style with first beers in the North Bar (our Northern adopted home) with Si, Anthony, Michael, Rik, Anand and myself! Then on to a curry house and in true northern style very hot curries with Champagne!
